Friday, 08 September 2017

In commemorating Women’s Month, the South African Local Government Association (SALGA), on 7 and 8 August 2017, held a “Women in Leadership Conference” in the Town Hall of Robertson.  The 2-day conference was attended by the delegates from the SALGA Western Cape Women’s Commission (SWC). The Eden district was represented by Councillors Rosina Ruiters, Liza Stroebel, Joslyn Johnson, Clodia Lichaba and Trix Holtzhausen, Executive Manager: Corporate and Strategic Services at Eden District Municipality.

During both days active group discussions took place and adequate feedback was provided. All information will be used to compile a document called “The Robertson Declaration”. The outcomes of the WC will be institutionalised in all municipalities and become part of the Integrated Development Plans and policies of municipalities.
